Ingredients
- 3 c quick cooking oats
- 1/2 c almond slivers
- 1/4 c dried raisins
- 1/3 c honey
- 1/3 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp. warm water
- pinch of saffron
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cardamom pods, powdered
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250°F/120°C. Line a medium baking tray with foil.
- Steep the saffron strands in warm water until it turns orange and fragrant.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, oil, saffron water and salt until combined.
- To the liquid, add the oats, almonds, raisins, cinnamon and cardamom powder. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake at 250°F/120°C for 1 hour. For clumpy granola, do not stir while baking.
- Cool on a wire rack and when completely cool, break up into chunks with a spoon and store in an airtight container for upto a month.
