Reheat Pizza like a PRO!

Reheat Pizza like a Pro

If you are a microwave Pizza reheating person, then this post is for you my friend! I was also like you, until I discovered this very simple method of Reheating Pizza like a PRO. Leftover Pizzas will never be the same again!!!

OK, so we all have those days that we’re just too tired (or bored) to cook and the pizza place’s number is on speed dial (conveniently), and all you gotta do is call. Well, I order online and the site is bookmarked, my usual order saved, so it’s just a matter of few clicks. And I always have 2 or 3 slices leftover, and reheating them in the microwave isn’t just the same as a freshly made pizza. The base goes soft, crust gets chewy and at this point, it’s just a matter of getting it over with.

Not anymore. Thanks to the folks at Roberta’s Pizza & Reddit, we now know the proper way to reheat a pizza, and it’s not in the microwave!

This simple method gives you a pizza that was just as good as it was when it came out of the oven: crisp base, soft crust and gooey, oh-so-molten cheese!

Step 1:

Place a pan on medium heat and once warm, add cold pizza slices. Continue to heat on medium for 2 minutes.

Step 2:

Sprinkle a little water on the pan – not ON the pizza, but on the sides.

Step 3:

Cover and cook on low heat (the lowest heat setting) for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4:

Nom nom nom nom nom….

The base is crispy again – seriously! You can hear the crunch as you bite in.

My precious garlic crust is now soft, not chewy like it gets in the microwave. And the cheese is oh-so-molten, as promised!

How easy was that? Ok so it wasn’t as simple as 1 minute in the microwave, but hey, to revive that base and crust to its former glory, I’d spare the time.

Save this pin for the next time (and every time) you buy a pizza, and enjoy the leftovers just as much as you enjoyed the first slice out of that box.

Pizza night may be a bit too frequent in our house, but you won t hear me complaining! Next to chocolate, it s definitely a weakness of mine. We ve got this awesome local bakery right around the corner from us that makes the most amazing pizzas, and we always get enough so that we ll be sure to have leftovers. K and I have made a pact that anytime we want to go to the bakery this summer, we have to walk there. Get out and stretch our legs a little bit, feel like we ve gotten some exercise before indulging in our favorite slice. After the pie has been hanging out in the fridge for a while, like most great Italian foods I m so fond of, the ingredients have a chance to mingle and meld becoming so much more flavorful overnight. It s like magic really. But throwing a couple of slices into the microwave is the fastest, surest way of ruining that magic and turning it into a rubbery, soggy mess. No thank you!

What what what!!?! I bet reheating it this way doesn’t cause a boiling cauldren of cheese to get stuck to the roof of my mouth and leave it burned for a week either! (This is obviously a reoccurring problem lol). I’m so doing this next time! Thanks!

Oh I have that problem too Sarah! The roof of my mouth takes the brunt of the pizza, (not considering my hips and thighs) -but no, NO cheese cauldron here, it’s pleasantly hot, while the base and crust are just PERFECT!

Wow!! That’s awesome idea! I don’t have microwave and I always use the conventional oven.

Is it better in the oven though? Never tried that, my oven takes ages to preheat!
